New Forms
Counihan Gallery, 233 Sydney Road, Melbourne VIC
17 October - 9 November 2014
Brancusi deals in the rock of ages. new oracles emerge by his hand. nothing is set in stone. he is catching the grainy static. rearranging frequencies. his orphan hieroglyphs – notes to the future. i am catching his electric dust. carried on a static wave. i am in transit. no eyes. no need. the sculptor’s mallet set me free.
i am becoming the grainy atmosphere that is free from form and is flight. like a bird in space. it soars into a danube field. into silence. into walls of sound and loud sonic liberation. essence.
the thick neck of a duo-sonic. mallet of sound. smashing/distorting. opening up into formlessness - the immaterial from which the new will be born. new forms emerge out of the perfect chaos of grain and static.
new flowers new stars new flesh new tongues….
